وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٖ
ni d'ami chaleureux
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
nor any sympathetic friend who might be concerned for us.
فَلَوۡ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةٗ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Si un retour nous était possible, alors nous serions parmi les croyants!»
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
If only we had another turn another return to this world we would have been among those who believe!’ law ‘if only’ here is for the conditional optative to which nakūna ‘we would have been’ constitutes the response.
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Voilà bien là un signe; cependant, la plupart d'entre eux ne croient pas

Surely in that which is mentioned of the tale of Abraham and his people there is a sign; but most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Et ton Seigneur, c'est Lui vraiment le Puissant, le Très Miséricordieux
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
And truly your Lord He is the Mighty the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Le peuple de Noé traita de menteurs les Messagers
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
The people of Noah denied the messengers by denying him for they all brought the same message affirming God’s Oneness; or it is because he stayed among them for so long that it was as though he was many messengers the feminine person of the verb kadhdhabat ‘denied’ governed by qawm ‘the people’ is on account of the import but it is masculine on account of its morphological form;
