16S21V16

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ

Ce n'est pas par jeu que Nous avons créé le ciel et la terre et ce qui est entre eux

Al-JalalaynAl-Jalalayn

And We did not create the heaven and the earth and all that is between them playing being frivolous but to indicate Our power and to benefit Our servants.

17S21V17

لَوۡ أَرَدۡنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهۡوٗا لَّٱتَّخَذۡنَٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّآ إِن كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ

Si Nous avions voulu prendre une distraction, Nous l'aurions prise de Nous-mêmes, si vraiment Nous avions voulu le faire

Al-JalalaynAl-Jalalayn

Had We desired to find some diversion that which provides diversion in the way of a partner or a child We would have found it with Ourselves from among the beautiful-eyed houris or angels were We to do so. But We did not do so thus We never desired it.

18S21V18

بَلۡ نَقۡذِفُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلۡبَٰطِلِ فَيَدۡمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٞۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلۡوَيۡلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ

Bien au contraire, Nous lançons contre le faux la vérité qui le subjugue, et le voilà qui disparaît. Et malheur à vous pour ce que vous attribuez [injustement à Allah]

Al-JalalaynAl-Jalalayn

Nay but We hurl We cast the truth faith against falsehood disbelief and it obliterates it and behold it vanishes disappears damaghahu ‘it obliterates it’ actually means ‘it struck the brain with a blow’ a blow which is fatal. And for you O disbelievers of Mecca there shall be woe severe chastisement for what you ascribe to God of mate or child.

19S21V19

وَلَهُۥ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَمَنۡ عِندَهُۥ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا يَسۡتَحۡسِرُونَ

A Lui seul appartiennent tous ceux qui sont dans les cieux et sur la terre. Ceux qui sont auprès de Lui [les Anges] ne se considèrent point trop grands pour L'adorer et ne s'en lassent pas

Al-JalalaynAl-Jalalayn

And to Him exalted be He belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth as possessions and those who are near Him namely the angels wa-man ‘indahu the subject the predicate of which is the following clause do not disdain to worship Him nor do they weary.

20S21V20

يُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا يَفۡتُرُونَ

Ils exaltent Sa Gloire nuit et jour et ne s'interrompent point

Al-JalalaynAl-Jalalayn

They glorify Him night and day and they do not falter in it for it comes to them as naturally as breathing comes to us something which we can never be distracted from.
