Ash-Shams

وَٱلشَّمۡسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا
Par le soleil et par sa clarté
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
By the sun and her morning light
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا
Et par la lune quand elle le suit
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
and by the moon when it follows her rising after she has set
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا
Et par le jour quand il l'éclaire
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
and by the day when it reveals her as it rises high
وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَغۡشَىٰهَا
Et par la nuit quand elle l'enveloppe
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
and by the night when it enshrouds her covering her up with its darkness idhā ‘when’ in all three instances is an absolute adverbial operated by the verbal action of the oath.
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا
Et par le ciel et Celui qui l'a construit
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
By the heaven and the One Who built it
