فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ فَأَغۡرَقۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمۡ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُواْ عَنۡهَا غَٰفِلِينَ
Alors Nous Nous sommes vengés d'eux; Nous les avons noyés dans les flots, parce qu'ils traitaient de mensonges Nos signes et n'y prêtaient aucune attention
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
So We exacted retribution from them and therefore We drowned them in the sea al-yamm denotes salty waters for the reason that they denied Our signs and were heedless of them not reflecting upon them.
وَأَوۡرَثۡنَا ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُواْ يُسۡتَضۡعَفُونَ مَشَٰرِقَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَغَٰرِبَهَا ٱلَّتِي بَٰرَكۡنَا فِيهَاۖ وَتَمَّتۡ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُواْۖ وَدَمَّرۡنَا مَا كَانَ يَصۡنَعُ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَقَوۡمُهُۥ وَمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡرِشُونَ
Et les gens qui étaient opprimés, Nous les avons fait hériter les contrées orientales et occidentales de la terre que Nous avons bénies. Et la très belle promesse de ton Seigneur sur les enfants d'Israël s'accomplit pour prix de leur endurance. Et Nous avons détruit ce que faisaient Pharaon et son peuple, ainsi que ce qu'ils construisaient
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
And We bequeathed upon the people who were oppressed through bondage namely the Children of Israel the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which We had blessed with water and trees allatī bāraknā fīhā ‘which We had blessed’ is an adjectival qualification of al-ard ‘the land’ and this was Syria and the fair word of your Lord was fulfilled which was His saying exalted be He Yet We desired to be gracious to those who were oppressed in the land... to the end of the verse Q. 285 for the Children of Israel because they endured patiently persecution at the hands of their enemy; and We destroyed utterly what Pharaoh and his folk had been creating by way of architecture and what they had been erecting read ya‘rishūn or ya‘rushūn what they had been raising of edifices.
وَجَٰوَزۡنَا بِبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ فَأَتَوۡاْ عَلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ يَعۡكُفُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَصۡنَامٖ لَّهُمۡۚ قَالُواْ يَٰمُوسَى ٱجۡعَل لَّنَآ إِلَٰهٗا كَمَا لَهُمۡ ءَالِهَةٞۚ قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمٞ تَجۡهَلُونَ
Et Nous avons fait traverser la Mer aux Enfants d'Israël. Ils passèrent auprès d'un peuple attaché à ses idoles et dirent: «O Moïse, désigne-nous une divinité semblable à leurs dieux.» Il dit: «Vous êtes certes des gens ignorants
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
And We brought the Children of Israel across the sea and they came upon they passed by a people cleaving in devotion read ya‘kufūn or ya‘kifūn to idols they had constantly worshipping them. They said ‘O Moses make for us a god an idol for us to worship just as they have gods.’ He said ‘Truly you are an ignorant folk for repaying God’s grace to you with what you have said.
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مُتَبَّرٞ مَّا هُمۡ فِيهِ وَبَٰطِلٞ مَّا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
Le culte, auquel ceux-là s'adonnent, est caduc; et tout ce qu'ils font est nul et sans valeur.»
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
Truly as for these their way will be destroyed and what they have been doing is in vain’.
قَالَ أَغَيۡرَ ٱللَّهِ أَبۡغِيكُمۡ إِلَٰهٗا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمۡ عَلَى ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Il dit: «Chercherai-je pour vous une autre divinité qu'Allah, alors que c'est Lui qui vous a préférés à toutes les créatures [de leur époque]?»
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
He said ‘Shall I seek other than God as a god for you to worship abghīkum ‘shall I seek for you’ is originally abghī lakum when He has favoured you above all the worlds?’ of your time in the ways He has mentioned in His sayings?
