فَلَمۡ يَزِدۡهُمۡ دُعَآءِيٓ إِلَّا فِرَارٗا
Mais mon appel n'a fait qu'accroître leur fuite
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
but my summon has only increased their evasion of faith.
وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوۡتُهُمۡ لِتَغۡفِرَ لَهُمۡ جَعَلُوٓاْ أَصَٰبِعَهُمۡ فِيٓ ءَاذَانِهِمۡ وَٱسۡتَغۡشَوۡاْ ثِيَابَهُمۡ وَأَصَرُّواْ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ ٱسۡتِكۡبَارٗا
Et chaque fois que je les ai appelés pour que Tu leur pardonnes, ils ont mis leurs doigts dans leurs oreilles. se sont enveloppés de leurs vêtements, se sont entêtés et se sont montrés extrêmement orgueilleux
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
And indeed whenever I summoned them so that You might forgive them they put their fingers in their ears in order not to hear what I say and draw their cloaks over themselves they cover their heads with them in order not to catch sight of me and they persist in their disbelief and act in great arrogance disdaining faith.
ثُمَّ إِنِّي دَعَوۡتُهُمۡ جِهَارٗا
Ensuite, je les ai appelés ouvertement
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
Then indeed I summoned them aloud that is to say at the top of my voice;
ثُمَّ إِنِّيٓ أَعۡلَنتُ لَهُمۡ وَأَسۡرَرۡتُ لَهُمۡ إِسۡرَارٗا
Puis, je leur ai fait des proclamations publiques, et des confidences en secret
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
then assuredly I proclaimed to them with my voice and I confided my words to them secretly
فَقُلۡتُ ٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ رَبَّكُمۡ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارٗا
J'ai donc dit: «Implorez le pardon de votre Seigneur, car Il est grand Pardonneur
Al-Jalalayn — Al-Jalalayn
saying “Ask your Lord for forgiveness from idolatry. Assuredly He is ever Forgiving.
