ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ
Et puis, vous, les égarés, qui traitiez (la Résurrection) de mensonge
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Then lo! ye, the erring) from faith and guidance, (the deniers) of Allah, His Messenger and Scripture. This refers to Abu Jahl and his host,
لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ
vous mangerez certainement d'un arbre de Zaqqûm
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum
فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ
vous vous en remplirez le ventre
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
And will fill your bellies therewith) from the trees of Zaqqum which grow inside the Fire;
فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
puis vous boirez par-dessus cela de l'eau bouillante
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And thereon) and upon eating from the Zaqqum (ye will drink of boiling water,
فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ
vous en boirez comme boivent les chameaux assoiffés
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
Drinking even as the camel drinketh) drinking even as a thirsty and sick camel do: it hardly gets filled; it is also said that this means: even as a thirsty camel drinks upon eating sour food.
