وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرِ ٱللَّهَۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا
Et implore d'Allah le pardon car Allah est certes Pardonneur et Miséricordieux
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And seek forgiveness of Allah) repent to Allah for being on the verge of hitting the Jew, Zayd Ibn Samin. (Lo! Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful) of him who dies repentant; it is also said that this means: Allah is Forgiving of the transgression you were about to commit, Merciful towards you.
وَلَا تُجَٰدِلۡ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡتَانُونَ أَنفُسَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ خَوَّانًا أَثِيمٗا
Et ne dispute pas en faveur de ceux qui se trahissent eux-mêmes. Allah, vraiment, n'aime pas le traître et le pécheur
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And plead not on behalf of (people) who deceive themselves) by stealing. (Lo! Allah loveth not one who is treacherous) through stealing (and sinful) by lying in his oath and falsely accusing an innocent person.
يَسۡتَخۡفُونَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يَسۡتَخۡفُونَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمۡ إِذۡ يُبَيِّتُونَ مَا لَا يَرۡضَىٰ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا
Ils cherchent à se cacher des gens, mais ils ne cherchent pas à se cacher d'Allah. Or, Il est avec eux quand ils tiennent la nuit des paroles qu'Il (Allah) n'agrée pas. Et Allah ne cesse de cerner (par Sa science) ce qu'ils font
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(They seek to hide from) they are ashamed of (men and seek not to hide from Allah) but they feel no shame towards Allah. (He is with them) He is Aware of them (when by night they hold discourse displeasing unto Him) they utter that which displeases Allah and displeases people. (Allah ever surroundeth what they do) and say.
هَـٰٓأَنتُمۡ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ جَٰدَلۡتُمۡ عَنۡهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا فَمَن يُجَٰدِلُ ٱللَّهَ عَنۡهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ أَم مَّن يَكُونُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَكِيلٗا
Voilà les gens en faveur desquels vous disputez dans la vie présente. Mais qui va disputer pour eux devant Allah au Jour de la Résurrection? Ou bien qui sera leur protecteur
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Lo! you are) the people of Tu'mah, i.e. the Banu Zufr (they who pleaded) argue (for them) for Tu'mah (in the life of the world. But who will plead) argue (with Allah for them) Tu'mah (on the Day of Resurrection, or who will then be their) Tu'mah's (defender) who will bail him out from Allah's torment?
وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ سُوٓءًا أَوۡ يَظۡلِمۡ نَفۡسَهُۥ ثُمَّ يَسۡتَغۡفِرِ ٱللَّهَ يَجِدِ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا
Quiconque agit mal ou fait du tort à lui-même, puis aussitôt implore d'Allah le pardon, trouvera Allah Pardonneur et Miséricordieux
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Yet whoso doeth evil) whoever steals (or wrongeth his own soul) by lying in his oath or falsely accusing an innocent person, (then seeketh pardon of Allah) and then repents to Allah, (will find Allah Forgiving) of his sins, (Merciful) in that He accepted his repentance.
