Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

يَوۡمَ نَبۡطِشُ ٱلۡبَطۡشَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
Le jour où Nous userons de la plus grande violence et Nous Nous vengerons
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
This is because He said: (On the day when We shall seize them with the greater seizure) We shall punish them with the greater punishment, by the sword on the Day of Badr ((then), in truth We shall punish) with Our torment.
۞وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَجَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ كَرِيمٌ
Et avant eux Nous avons déjà éprouvé le peuple de Pharaon, quand un noble Messager leur était venu
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And verily We tried before them) before the Quraysh (Pharaoh's folk) by punishing them, (when there came unto them a noble messenger) i.e. Moses,
أَنۡ أَدُّوٓاْ إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
[leur disant]: «Livrez-moi les serviteurs d'Allah! Je suis pour vous un Messager digne de confiance
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Saying: Give up to me) send with me (the slaves of Allah) the Children of Israel. (Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you) I am a messenger to you from Allah and I am faithful in conveying the message.
وَأَن لَّا تَعۡلُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّيٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ
Ne vous montrez pas hautains vis-à-vis d'Allah, car je vous apporte une preuve évidente
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And saying: Be not proud against Allah) nor lie against Him. (Lo! I bring you a clear warrant) a clear proof and plain warrant.
وَإِنِّي عُذۡتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمۡ أَن تَرۡجُمُونِ
Et je cherche protection auprès de mon Seigneur et votre Seigneur, pour que vous ne me lapidiez pas
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And lo! I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord lest ye stone me to death) lest you kill me.
