يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
Le jour où [la terre] tremblera [au premier son du clairon]
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
So Allah said: (On the day when the first trump resoundeth) this refers to the first blowing of the trumpet when everything will quake.
تَتۡبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
immédiatement suivi du deuxième
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And the second followeth it) this is the final blowing on the trumpet,
قُلُوبٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاجِفَةٌ
Ce jour-là, il y aura des cœurs qui seront agités d'effroi
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(On that day) which is the Day of Judgement (hearts beat painfully) the hearts are fearful
أَبۡصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٞ
et leurs regards se baisseront
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(While eyes are downcast) abased
يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرۡدُودُونَ فِي ٱلۡحَافِرَةِ
Ils disent: «Quoi! Serons-nous ramenés à notre vie première
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
((Now) they) the disbelievers of Mecca: al-Nadr Ibn al-Harith and his host (are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state) to the life of the world; and it is also said: from the graves
