وَقَوۡمَ نُوحٖ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمٗا فَٰسِقِينَ
De même, pour le peuple de Noé auparavant. Ils étaient des gens pervers
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And the folk of Noah) We had also destroyed them (aforetime) before the folk of Salih. (Lo! they were licentious folk) they were disbelieving folk.
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيۡنَٰهَا بِأَيۡيْدٖ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
Le ciel, Nous l'avons construit par Notre puissance: et Nous l'étendons [constamment] dans l'immensité
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(We have built) created (the heaven with might, and We it is who make the vast extent (thereof)) as We will; it is also said that this means: we expand the provision thereof.
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَرَشۡنَٰهَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمَٰهِدُونَ
Et la terre, Nous l'avons étendue. Et de quelle excellente façon Nous l'avons nivelée
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And the earth have We laid out) on water, (how gracious was the Spreader (thereof)!
وَمِن كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ
Et de toute chose Nous avons créé [deux éléments] de couple. Peut-être vous rappellerez-vous
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
And all things We have created by pairs) in the earth, (that haply ye may reflect) on the creation of Allah.
فَفِرُّوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
«Fuyez donc vers Allah. Moi, je suis pour vous de Sa part, un avertisseur explicite
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Therefore flee unto Allah) flee from Allah unto Allah; it is also said that this means: flee from contravening against Allah to obeying Him; (lo! I am a plain warner unto you from Him) I am a warning messenger who explains matters to you in a language you understand.
