وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنۡ أَوۡلِيَآءَ يَنصُرُونَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۗ وَمَن يُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن سَبِيلٍ
Ils n'auront pas de protecteur en dehors d'Allah pour les secourir et quiconque Allah égare n'a plus aucune voie
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And they will have no protecting friends) no relatives (to help them) to save them (instead of Allah) from Allah's torment. (He whom Allah sendeth astray) from His religion, like Abu Jahl, (for him there is no road) for him there is no religion or proof.
ٱسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِرَبِّكُم مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن يَأۡتِيَ يَوۡمٞ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِۚ مَا لَكُم مِّن مَّلۡجَإٖ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّكِيرٖ
Répondez à l'appel de votre Seigneur avant que ne vienne un jour dont Allah ne reportera jamais le terme. Ce jour-là, nul refuge pour vous et vous ne pourrez point nier (vos péchés)

(Answer the call of your Lord) by believing in Allah's divine Oneness (before there cometh unto you from Allah a Day) the Day of Judgement (which there is no averting. Ye have no refuge) no escape (on that Day) from Allah's torment, (nor have ye any (power of) refusal) nor do you have any helper.
فَإِنۡ أَعۡرَضُواْ فَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَفِيظًاۖ إِنۡ عَلَيۡكَ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَٰغُۗ وَإِنَّآ إِذَآ أَذَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِنَّا رَحۡمَةٗ فَرِحَ بِهَاۖ وَإِن تُصِبۡهُمۡ سَيِّئَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ فَإِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ كَفُورٞ
S'ils se détournent, ...Nous ne t'avons pas envoyé pour assurer leur sauvegarde: tu n'es chargé que de transmettre [le message]. Et lorsque Nous faisons goûter à l'homme une miséricorde venant de Nous, il en exulte; mais si un malheur les atteint pour ce que leurs mains ont perpétré..., l'homme est alors très ingrat
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(But if they are averse) of faith, (We have not sent thee as a warder over them) whereby you have to protect them. (Thine is only to convey (the message)) on behalf of Allah. After this, Allah commanded them to fight. (And lo! when We cause man) the disbelieving person (to taste of mercy) to taste a blessing (from Us he exulteth therefore) without giving thanks for it. (And if some evil) hardship, poverty or misfortune (striketh them because of that which their own hands have sent before) because of what they did in their state of idolatry, (then lo! Man) Abu Jahl (is an ingrate) he disbelieves in Allah and does not give thanks for His blessings.
لِّلَّهِ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ يَخۡلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُۚ يَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ إِنَٰثٗا وَيَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ ٱلذُّكُورَ
A Allah appartient la royauté des cieux et de la terre. Il crée ce qu'Il veut. Il fait don de filles à qui Il veut, et don de garçons à qui Il veut
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Unto Allah belongeth the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth) unto Allah belong the stores of the heaven and the earth: rain and vegetation. (He createth what He will) as He will. (He bestoweth female (offspring) upon whom He will) as was the case with the Prophet Lot who did not have any sons, (and bestoweth male (offspring) upon whom He will) such as was the case with the Prophet Abraham who did not have daughters;
أَوۡ يُزَوِّجُهُمۡ ذُكۡرَانٗا وَإِنَٰثٗاۖ وَيَجۡعَلُ مَن يَشَآءُ عَقِيمًاۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٞ قَدِيرٞ
ou bien Il donne à la fois garçons et filles; et Il rend stérile qui Il veut. Il est certes Omniscient et Omnipotent
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Or He mingleth them, males and females) as was the case with the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) (and He maketh barren whom He will) as was the case with the Prophet John the son of Zachariah. (Lo! He is Knower, Powerful) regarding that which He gives of males or females.
