وَقَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ ذَرُونِيٓ أَقۡتُلۡ مُوسَىٰ وَلۡيَدۡعُ رَبَّهُۥٓۖ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُبَدِّلَ دِينَكُمۡ أَوۡ أَن يُظۡهِرَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلۡفَسَادَ
Et Pharaon dit: «Laissez-moi tuer Moïse. Et qu'il appelle son Seigneur! Je crains qu'il ne change votre religion ou qu'il ne fasse apparaître la corruption sur terre»

And Pharaoh said: Suffer me to kill Moses, and let him cry unto his Lord) Whom he claims sent him to me. (Lo! I fear that he will alter your religion) you presently practise (or that he will cause confusion in the land) or that he will kill your sons and use your daughters as servants, as you did yourself with his people; it is also said that this means: or they will cause confusion in the land by leaving your religion and the religion of your forefathers and accepting his religion.
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّي عُذۡتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُم مِّن كُلِّ مُتَكَبِّرٖ لَّا يُؤۡمِنُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡحِسَابِ
Moïse [lui] dit: «Je cherche auprès de mon Seigneur et le vôtre, protection contre tout orgueilleux qui ne croit pas au jour du Compte»

(Moses said: Lo! I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every scorner) who is too proud to believe and (who believeth not in a Day of Reckoning) i.e. the Day of Judgement.
وَقَالَ رَجُلٞ مُّؤۡمِنٞ مِّنۡ ءَالِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ يَكۡتُمُ إِيمَٰنَهُۥٓ أَتَقۡتُلُونَ رَجُلًا أَن يَقُولَ رَبِّيَ ٱللَّهُ وَقَدۡ جَآءَكُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ مِن رَّبِّكُمۡۖ وَإِن يَكُ كَٰذِبٗا فَعَلَيۡهِ كَذِبُهُۥۖ وَإِن يَكُ صَادِقٗا يُصِبۡكُم بَعۡضُ ٱلَّذِي يَعِدُكُمۡۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي مَنۡ هُوَ مُسۡرِفٞ كَذَّابٞ
Et un homme croyant de la famille de Pharaon, qui dissimulait sa foi dit: «Tuez-vous un homme parce qu'il dit: «Mon Seigneur est Allah?» Alors qu'il est venu à vous avec les preuves évidentes de la part de votre Seigneur. S'il est menteur, son mensonge sera à son détriment; tandis que s'il est véridique, alors une partie de ce dont il vous menace tombera sur vous». Certes, Allah ne guide pas celui qui est outrancier et imposteur
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And a believing man) Ezekiel (of Pharaoh's family) who was Pharaoh's cousin, (who hid his faith) from Pharaoh and his folk; it is also said that this means: a believing man, Ezekiel, who hid his faith from Pharaoh's family (said: Would ye kill a man because he saith: My Lord is Allah) and He has sent me to you, (and hath brought you clear proofs) commands, prohibitions and signs of his prophethood (from your Lord? If he is lying) in what he says, (then his lie is upon him) the punishment of his lying is to his own hurt; (and if he is truthful) in what he says and you still disbelieve in him (then some of that wherewith he threatens you) of punishment (will strike you) in the life of this world. (Lo! Allah guideth not) Allah leads not to His religion (one who is a prodigal) an idolater, (a liar) against Allah.
يَٰقَوۡمِ لَكُمُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ ظَٰهِرِينَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَمَن يَنصُرُنَا مِنۢ بَأۡسِ ٱللَّهِ إِن جَآءَنَاۚ قَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ مَآ أُرِيكُمۡ إِلَّا مَآ أَرَىٰ وَمَآ أَهۡدِيكُمۡ إِلَّا سَبِيلَ ٱلرَّشَادِ
«O mon peuple, triomphant sur la terre, vous avez la royauté aujourd'hui. Mais qui nous secourra de la rigueur d'Allah si elle nous vient?» Pharaon dit: «Je ne vous indique que ce que je considère bon. Je ne vous guide qu'au sentier de la droiture»
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(O my people! Yours is the kingdom today, ye being uppermost) triumphant (in the land) of Egypt. (But who would save us from the wrath of Allah) from the torment of Allah (should it reach us) when it comes to us? (Pharaoh said: I do but show you) I do but command you (what I think) is my right that you should worship, (and I do but guide you) call you (to wise policy) to the way of the Truth and guidance.
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِيٓ ءَامَنَ يَٰقَوۡمِ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُم مِّثۡلَ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابِ
Et celui qui était croyant dit: «O mon peuple, je crains pour vous un jour semblable à celui des coalisés
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And he who believed) i.e. Ezekiel (said: O my people! Lo! I fear for you) I know that you will have (a fate like that of the factions (of old)) a punishment like that of the disbelievers of old;
