إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Il était, certes, un de Nos serviteurs croyants
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves.
ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
Ensuite Nous noyâmes les autres
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
Then We did drown the others) those who remained after him.
۞وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
Du nombre de ses coreligionnaires, certes, fut Abraham
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And lo! of his persuasion) of Noah's persuasion; and it is also said this means: of Muhammad's persuasion (verily was Abraham) He says: Abraham followed the religion and way of Noah and Muhammad (pbuh) followed Abraham's religion and way.
إِذۡ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلۡبٖ سَلِيمٍ
Quand il vint à son Seigneur avec un cœur sain
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(When he came unto his Lord) He says: when Abraham betook himself to worshipping his Lord (with a whole heart) with a heart free from any blemish;
إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعۡبُدُونَ
Quand il dit à son père et à son peuple: «Qu'est-ce que vous adorez?»

(When he said unto his father) Azar (and his folk) the idol worshippers: (What is it that you worship) beside Allah?
