يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُواْ رَبَّكُمۡۚ إِنَّ زَلۡزَلَةَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ شَيۡءٌ عَظِيمٞ
O hommes! Craignez votre Seigneur. Le séisme [qui précédera] l'Heure est une chose terrible
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
And from his narration on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas who said in explaining Allah's words (O mankind!): '(O mankind!) this expression could be of general applicability ('amm) as it could be of particular applicability (khass); here, it is an expression of general applicability. (Fear your Lord) and obey him. (Lo! the earthquake of the Hour (of Doom)) the advent of the Hour (is a tremendous thing) its horror is horrendous.
يَوۡمَ تَرَوۡنَهَا تَذۡهَلُ كُلُّ مُرۡضِعَةٍ عَمَّآ أَرۡضَعَتۡ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمۡلٍ حَمۡلَهَا وَتَرَى ٱلنَّاسَ سُكَٰرَىٰ وَمَا هُم بِسُكَٰرَىٰ وَلَٰكِنَّ عَذَابَ ٱللَّهِ شَدِيدٞ
Le jour où vous le verrez, toute nourrice oubliera ce qu'elle allaitait, et toute femelle enceinte avortera de ce qu'elle portait. Et tu verras les gens ivres, alors qu'ils ne le sont pas. Mais le châtiment d'Allah est dur
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(On the day when ye behold it) when you see it upon the first blowing of the Trumpet, (every nursing mother will forget) will be preoccupied from (her nursling and every pregnant one will be delivered of her burden) of pregnancy, (and thou (Muhammad) wilt see mankind) standing and (drunken, yet they will not be drunken) from intoxicants, (but the Doom of Allah will be strong (upon them)) this is why they were dazzled as if they were drunk.
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُجَٰدِلُ فِي ٱللَّهِ بِغَيۡرِ عِلۡمٖ وَيَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَيۡطَٰنٖ مَّرِيدٖ
Et il y a des gens qui discutent au sujet d'Allah sans aucune science, et qui suivent tout diable rebelle
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Among mankind) this refers to al-Nadr Ibn al-Harth (is he who disputeth concerning Allah) who argues against Allah's religion and Scripture (without knowledge) without proof or clarity, (and followeth each froward devil) each hardened and accursed rebellious one;
كُتِبَ عَلَيۡهِ أَنَّهُۥ مَن تَوَلَّاهُ فَأَنَّهُۥ يُضِلُّهُۥ وَيَهۡدِيهِ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
Il a été prescrit à l'égard de ce dernier qu'il égarera quiconque le prendra pour maître, et qu'il le guidera vers le châtiment de la fournaise
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(For him) for the devil (it is decreed that whoso taketh him for friend) whoever obeys him, (he verily will mislead him) from the guidance (and will guide him) and will invite him (to the punishment of the Flame) to that which incurs the punishment of the Fire.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمۡ فِي رَيۡبٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡبَعۡثِ فَإِنَّا خَلَقۡنَٰكُم مِّن تُرَابٖ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطۡفَةٖ ثُمَّ مِنۡ عَلَقَةٖ ثُمَّ مِن مُّضۡغَةٖ مُّخَلَّقَةٖ وَغَيۡرِ مُخَلَّقَةٖ لِّنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمۡۚ وَنُقِرُّ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡحَامِ مَا نَشَآءُ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗى ثُمَّ نُخۡرِجُكُمۡ طِفۡلٗا ثُمَّ لِتَبۡلُغُوٓاْ أَشُدَّكُمۡۖ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرۡذَلِ ٱلۡعُمُرِ لِكَيۡلَا يَعۡلَمَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ عِلۡمٖ شَيۡـٔٗاۚ وَتَرَى ٱلۡأَرۡضَ هَامِدَةٗ فَإِذَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهَا ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱهۡتَزَّتۡ وَرَبَتۡ وَأَنۢبَتَتۡ مِن كُلِّ زَوۡجِۭ بَهِيجٖ
O hommes! Si vous doutez au sujet de la Résurrection, c'est Nous qui vous avons créés de terre, puis d'une goutte de sperme, puis d'une adhérence puis d'un embryon [normalement] formé aussi bien qu'informe pour vous montrer [Notre Omnipotence] et Nous déposerons dans les matrices ce que Nous voulons jusqu'à un terme fixé. Puis Nous vous en sortirons [à l'état] de bébé, pour qu'ensuite vous atteignez votre maturité. Il en est parmi vous qui meurent [jeunes] tandis que d'autres parviennent au plus vil de l'âge si bien qu'ils ne savent plus rien de ce qu'ils connaissaient auparavant. De même tu vois la terre desséchée: dès que Nous y faisons descendre de l'eau elle remue, se gonfle, et fait pousser toutes sortes de splendides couples de végétaux
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(O mankind!) i.e. O people of Mecca (if ye are in doubt concerning the Resurrection) after death, then reflect upon your initial creation, for bringing you back to life is not more difficult than your initial creation, (then lo! We have created you from dust) We have created you from Adam and Adam is from dust, (then) We created you after that (from a drop of seed, then from a clot) of blood after the drop of semen, (then from a little lump of flesh) after the clot of blood (shapely) in a perfect shape (and shapeless) when miscarriage takes place, (that We may make (it) clean for you) in the Qur'an after you are created. (And We cause what We will) of unborn children (to remain in the wombs) preventing it from miscarriage; and it is also said that this means: We leave it in the wombs (for an appointed time) for a certain number of months, (and afterward We bring you forth) from the wombs (as infants, then (give you growth) that ye attain your full strength) from the age of 18 to the age of 30 years old. (And among you there is he who dieth (young)) before the age of puberty, (and among you there is he who is brought back to the most abject time of life) is brought back to his initial state after he reaches abject age, (so that, after knowledge) after his first initial knowledge, (he knoweth naught) such that he becomes undiscerning. (And thou (Muhammad) seest the earth barren) dead and cracked, (but when We send down water thereon, it doth thrill) with vegetation; it is also said that this means: it vibrates and cheers up (and swell) for the vegetation (and put forth) by means of water (ever lovely kind (of growth)) of every comely kind of plants.
