66S21V66

قَالَ أَفَتَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمۡ

Il dit: «Adorez-vous donc, en dehors d'Allah, ce qui ne saurait en rien vous être utile ni vous nuire non plus

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(He said) Abraham said: (Worship ye then instead of Allah that which cannot profit you at all) if you worshipped it, (nor harm you) if you did not worship it?

67S21V67

أُفّٖ لَّكُمۡ وَلِمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ

Fi de vous et de ce que vous adorez en dehors d'Allah! Ne raisonnez-vous pas?»

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(Fie on you and all that ye worship instead of Allah! Have ye then no sense) do you not then have the common sense that human beings have? It does not befit one to worship something that does not benefit or harm.

68S21V68

قَالُواْ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱنصُرُوٓاْ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَٰعِلِينَ

Ils dirent: «Brûlez-le. Secourez vos divinités si vous voulez faire quelque chose (pour elles)»

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(They cried) their king Nimrod said to them: (Burn him) in the Fire (and stand by your gods) and avenge your deities, (if ye will be doing) something to him; and they threw him in the Fire.

69S21V69

قُلۡنَا يَٰنَارُ كُونِي بَرۡدٗا وَسَلَٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ

Nous dîmes: «O feu, sois pour Abraham une fraîcheur salutaire»

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(We said: O fire, be coolness) against your heat (and peace) and safety from your coolness (for Abraham) for if Allah did not say " peace " the coolness of the Fire would have harmed him.

70S21V70

وَأَرَادُواْ بِهِۦ كَيۡدٗا فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَخۡسَرِينَ

Ils voulaient ruser contre lui, mais ce sont eux que Nous rendîmes les plus grands perdants

(And they wished to set a snare for him) i.e. to burn him, (but We made them the greater losers) the ones who were humbled.
