31S18V31

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتُ عَدۡنٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهِمُ ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ يُحَلَّوۡنَ فِيهَا مِنۡ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٖ وَيَلۡبَسُونَ ثِيَابًا خُضۡرٗا مِّن سُندُسٖ وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقٖ مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِۚ نِعۡمَ ٱلثَّوَابُ وَحَسُنَتۡ مُرۡتَفَقٗا

Voilà ceux qui auront les jardins du séjour (éternel) sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux. Ils y seront parés de bracelets d'or et se vêtiront d'habits verts de soie fine et de brocart, accoudés sur des divans (bien ornés). Quelle bonne récompense et quelle belle demeure

(As for such, theirs will be Gardens of Eden) the compartment of the All-Merciful, (wherein rivers) rivers of wine, water, honey and milk (flow beneath them) i.e. beneath their trees and habitations; (therein) in Paradise (they will be given armlets of gold and will wear green robes of finest silk and gold embroidery, reclining upon) sitting in Paradise on (thrones therein) on canopies. (Blest the reward) in Paradise, (and fair the resting place!) He says: fair is the abode: the abode of their companions: the prophets and righteous.

32S18V32

۞وَٱضۡرِبۡ لَهُم مَّثَلٗا رَّجُلَيۡنِ جَعَلۡنَا لِأَحَدِهِمَا جَنَّتَيۡنِ مِنۡ أَعۡنَٰبٖ وَحَفَفۡنَٰهُمَا بِنَخۡلٖ وَجَعَلۡنَا بَيۡنَهُمَا زَرۡعٗا

Donne-leur l'exemple de deux hommes: à l'un d'eux Nous avons assigné deux jardins de vignes que Nous avons entourés de palmiers et Nous avons mis entre les deux jardins des champs cultivés

(Coin for them a similitude) explain to the people of Mecca, the description of: (Two men) two brothers from the Children of Israel, one of whom is a believer, Yehuda, and the other a disbeliever, Abufatrus, (unto one of whom) the disbeliever (We had assigned two gardens of grapes, and We had surrounded both with date-palms and had put between them) between the gardens (tillage) a plantation.

33S18V33

كِلۡتَا ٱلۡجَنَّتَيۡنِ ءَاتَتۡ أُكُلَهَا وَلَمۡ تَظۡلِم مِّنۡهُ شَيۡـٔٗاۚ وَفَجَّرۡنَا خِلَٰلَهُمَا نَهَرٗا

Les deux jardins produisaient leur récolte sans jamais manquer. Et Nous avons fait jaillir entre eux un ruisseau

(Each of the gardens gave its fruit) every year (and withheld naught thereof. And We caused a river to gush forth therein) in their middle.

34S18V34

وَكَانَ لَهُۥ ثَمَرٞ فَقَالَ لِصَٰحِبِهِۦ وَهُوَ يُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ أَنَا۠ أَكۡثَرُ مِنكَ مَالٗا وَأَعَزُّ نَفَرٗا

Et il avait des fruits et dit alors à son compagnon avec qui il conversait: «Je possède plus de biens que toi, et je suis plus puissant que toi grâce à mon clan»

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(And he had fruit) the garden had fruits; or according to a different reading: wealth. (And he said unto his comrade) the believer: Yehuda, (when he spake with him) bragging to him about his wealth: (I am more than thee in wealth, and stronger about men) I have more servants.

35S18V35

وَدَخَلَ جَنَّتَهُۥ وَهُوَ ظَالِمٞ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ قَالَ مَآ أَظُنُّ أَن تَبِيدَ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أَبَدٗا

Il entra dans son jardin coupable envers lui-même [par sa mécréance]; il dit: «Je ne pense pas que ceci puisse jamais périr

(And he went into his garden, while he (thus) wronged himself) through his disbelief. (He said: I think not that all this will ever perish).
