116S16V116

وَلَا تَقُولُواْ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلۡسِنَتُكُمُ ٱلۡكَذِبَ هَٰذَا حَلَٰلٞ وَهَٰذَا حَرَامٞ لِّتَفۡتَرُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفۡتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَ لَا يُفۡلِحُونَ

Et ne dites pas, conformément aux mensonges proférés par vos langues: «Ceci est licite, et cela est illicite», pour forger le mensonge contre Allah. Certes, ceux qui forgent le mensonge contre Allah ne réussiront pas

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(And speak not, concerning that which your own tongues qualify (as clean or unclean), the falsehood: �This) crop and cattle (is lawful) for men, (and this is forbidden�,) for women (so that ye invent a lie against Allah) by means of it. (Lo! those who invent a lie against Allah will not succeed) they will neither be safe nor escape Allah's chastisement.

117S16V117

مَتَٰعٞ قَلِيلٞ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ

Ce sera pour eux une piètre jouissance, mais un douloureux châtiment les attend

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(A brief enjoyment (will be theirs)) they will abide in this worldly life but for a short period; (and theirs a painful doom) in the Hereafter.

118S16V118

وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمۡنَا مَا قَصَصۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَمَا ظَلَمۡنَٰهُمۡ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُونَ

Aux Juifs, Nous avions interdit ce que Nous t'avons déjà relaté. Nous ne leur avons fait aucun tort; mais ils se faisaient du tort à eux-mêmes

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(And unto those who are Jews) those who stirred away from Islam, i.e. the Jews (We have forbidden that which We have already) before this surah, and specifically in surah al-An'am (related unto thee) that which We have named to you. (And We wronged them not) because of what We forbade them of meats and fats, (but they were wont to wrong themselves) they were wont to harm, i.e. He forbade them those things because of their sins.

119S16V119

ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُواْ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٖ ثُمَّ تَابُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصۡلَحُوٓاْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهَا لَغَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ

Puis ton Seigneur envers ceux qui ont commis le mal par ignorance, et se sont par la suite repentis et ont amélioré leur conduite, ton Seigneur, après cela est certes Pardonneur et Miséricordieux

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(Then lo! thy Lord) O Muhammad (for those who do evil in ignorance) intentionally even if they are ignorant of committing it (and afterward repent) after committing such an evil (and amend) their work between themselves and their Lord - (lo! (for them) thy Lord is afterward) after repentance (indeed Forgiving, Merciful) towards them.

120S16V120

إِنَّ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةٗ قَانِتٗا لِّلَّهِ حَنِيفٗا وَلَمۡ يَكُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ

Abraham était un guide ('Umma) parfait. Il était soumis à Allah, voué exclusivement à Lui et il n'était point du nombre des associateurs

(Lo! Abraham was a nation) a leader who was emulated (obedient to Allah, by nature upright) sincerely surrendered to Allah, (and he was not of the idolaters) he did not follow the idolaters in their religion;
