40 versets
أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِهَٰدٗا
N'avons-Nous pas fait de la terre une couche
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
Allah then mentioned the blessings He bestowed upon them, saying: (Have We not made the earth an expanse) and a place to sleep,
وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَوۡتَادٗا
et (placé) les montagnes comme des piquets
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And the high hills bulwarks) for it so that it does not sway?
وَخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا
Nous vous avons créés en couples
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And We have created you in pairs) male and female,
وَجَعَلۡنَا نَوۡمَكُمۡ سُبَاتٗا
et désigné votre sommeil pour votre repos
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And have appointed your sleep for repose) a repose for your bodies; and it is said this means: nice and beautiful,
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلَّيۡلَ لِبَاسٗا
et fait de la nuit un vêtement
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And have appointed the night as a cloak) and it is said this means: a dwelling,
