فَكُلِي وَٱشۡرَبِي وَقَرِّي عَيۡنٗاۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡبَشَرِ أَحَدٗا فَقُولِيٓ إِنِّي نَذَرۡتُ لِلرَّحۡمَٰنِ صَوۡمٗا فَلَنۡ أُكَلِّمَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ إِنسِيّٗا
Mange donc et bois et que ton œil se réjouisse! Si tu vois quelqu'un d'entre les humains, dis [lui:] «Assurément, j'ai voué un jeûne au Tout Miséricordieux: je ne parlerai donc aujourd'hui à aucun être humain»
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(So eat) the date (and drink) from the stream (and be consoled) by the birth of Jesus (pbuh). (And if thou meetest any mortal) and if you meet any human being, after today (say: Lo! I have vowed a fast unto the Beneficent, and may not speak this day to any mortal) and then be silent until Jesus speaks after you.
فَأَتَتۡ بِهِۦ قَوۡمَهَا تَحۡمِلُهُۥۖ قَالُواْ يَٰمَرۡيَمُ لَقَدۡ جِئۡتِ شَيۡـٔٗا فَرِيّٗا
Puis elle vint auprès des siens en le portant [le bébé]. Ils dirent: «O Marie, tu as fait une chose monstrueuse

(Then she brought him) i.e. Jesus (to her own folk, carrying him) when he was forty days old. (They said: O Mary! thou hast come with an amazing thing) you have come with an abominable act.
يَـٰٓأُخۡتَ هَٰرُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ ٱمۡرَأَ سَوۡءٖ وَمَا كَانَتۡ أُمُّكِ بَغِيّٗا
«Sœur de Hârûn, ton père n'était pas un homme de mal et ta mère n'était pas une prostituée»
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(Oh sister of Aaron!) O you who resembles Aaron in worship-Aaron was a righteous man, one of the best among people-; and it is also said that Aaron was an evil man and so they compared her to him; and it is also said that Aaron was her half brother from her father side. (Your father was not a wicked man) your father was not an adulterer (nor was your mother a harlot) nor was your mother a whore.
فَأَشَارَتۡ إِلَيۡهِۖ قَالُواْ كَيۡفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِي ٱلۡمَهۡدِ صَبِيّٗا
Elle fit alors un signe vers lui [le bébé]. Ils dirent: «Comment parlerions-nous à un bébé au berceau?»

(Then she pointed to him) she pointed to Jesus (pbuh) that they should speak to him. (They said: How can we tale to one who is in the cradle, a young boy) forty days old?
قَالَ إِنِّي عَبۡدُ ٱللَّهِ ءَاتَىٰنِيَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِي نَبِيّٗا
Mais (le bébé) dit: «Je suis vraiment le serviteur d'Allah. Il m'a donné le Livre et m'a désigné Prophète

Jesus then spoke to them, (He spake: Lo! I am the slave of Allah. He hath given me the Scripture) He taught me the Torah and the Gospel while still in my mother's womb (and hath appointed me a Prophet) after my mother delivered me,
