وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا جَمَالٌ حِينَ تُرِيحُونَ وَحِينَ تَسۡرَحُونَ
Ils vous paraissent beaux quand vous les ramenez, le soir, et aussi le matin quand vous les lâchez pour le pâturage
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And wherein is beauty for you) a beautiful scene, (when ye bring them home) back from pasture, (and when ye take them out to pasture).
وَتَحۡمِلُ أَثۡقَالَكُمۡ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٖ لَّمۡ تَكُونُواْ بَٰلِغِيهِ إِلَّا بِشِقِّ ٱلۡأَنفُسِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمۡ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٞ
Et ils portent vos fardeaux vers un pays que vous n'atteindriez qu'avec peine. Vraiment, votre Seigneur est Compatissant et Miséricordieux
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And they bear your loads) your luggage and provision (for you unto a land) i.e. Mecca (ye could not reach save with great trouble to yourselves) except with great toil. (Lo! your Lord is Full of Pity) towards him who believes, (Merciful) by deferring your chastisement.
وَٱلۡخَيۡلَ وَٱلۡبِغَالَ وَٱلۡحَمِيرَ لِتَرۡكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةٗۚ وَيَخۡلُقُ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
Et les chevaux, les mulets et les ânes, pour que vous les montiez, et pour l'apparat. Et Il crée ce que vous ne savez pas
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And horses and mules and asses (hath He created) that ye may ride them) in the way of Allah, (and for ornament) they are good to look at. (And He createth that which ye know not) He says: He created things that you do not know, since He has not named them to you.
وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ قَصۡدُ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمِنۡهَا جَآئِرٞۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ لَهَدَىٰكُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
Il appartient à Allah [par Sa grâce, de montrer] le droit chemin car il en est qui s'en détachent. Or, s'Il voulait, Il vous guiderait tous
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(And Allah's is the direction of the way) He is the guide whether it is in the sea or on the land, (and some (roads) go not straight) they are crooked and one cannot find one's way through them. (And had He willed He would have led you all aright) in your way whether you are in the sea or on the land; it is also said that (And Allah's is the direction of the way) means: it is Allah Who guides to monotheism, and some of the religions are crooked and unjust such as Judaism, Christianity and Zoroastrianism. And if Allah had willed, He would have guided you all to His religion.
هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗۖ لَّكُم مِّنۡهُ شَرَابٞ وَمِنۡهُ شَجَرٞ فِيهِ تُسِيمُونَ
C'est Lui qui, du ciel, a fait descendre de l'eau qui vous sert de boisson et grâce à laquelle poussent des plantes dont vous nourrissez vos troupeaux
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs — Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(He it is Who sendeth down water) rain (from the sky, whence ye have drink) from the rain which remains in springs and rivers, (and whence are trees) and by means of which tress and vegetation grow (on which ye send your beasts to pasture) on which your cattle are sent to pasture.
