46S16V46

أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمۡ فَمَا هُم بِمُعۡجِزِينَ

Ou bien qu'Il les saisisse en pleine activité sans qu'ils puissent échapper (au châtiment d'Allah)

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(Or that He will not seize them in their going to and fro) in their trade (that there be no escape for them) from Allah's chastisement?

47S16V47

أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٖ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمۡ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٌ

Ou bien qu'Il les saisisse en plein effroi? Mais vraiment, votre Seigneur est Compatissant et Miséricordieux

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(Or that He will not seize them with a gradual wasting) of their leaders and companions? (Lo! thy Lord is indeed Full of Pity, Merciful!) towards him who repents; it is also said that this means: He is full of pity in that He defers His punishment.

48S16V48

أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٖ يَتَفَيَّؤُاْ ظِلَٰلُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدٗا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمۡ دَٰخِرُونَ

N'ont-ils point vu que les ombres de toute chose qu'Allah a créée s'allongent à droite et à gauche, en se prosternant devant Allah, en toute humilité

(Have they) the people of Mecca (not observed all things that Allah hath created) of trees and beasts, (how their shadows incline to the right) in the morning (and to the left) in the afternoon, (making prostration unto Allah) and their shadows also making prostration to Allah in the morning and in the afternoon, (and they are lowly?) and they are obedient.

49S16V49

وَلِلَّهِۤ يَسۡجُدُۤ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِن دَآبَّةٖ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ

Et c'est devant Allah que se prosterne tout être vivant dans les cieux, et sur la terre; ainsi que les Anges qui ne s'enflent pas d'orgueil

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsTanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

(And unto Allah maketh prostration whatsoever is in the heavens) of the sun, moon and stars (and whatsoever is in the earth of living creatures) of beasts and birds, (and the angels (also)) do prostrate in heaven, (and they are not proud) to prostrate to Allah.

50S16V50

يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ۩

Ils craignent leur Seigneur, au-dessus d'eux, et font ce qui leur est commandé

(They fear their Lord above them) Who is above them on the throne, (and do) i.e. they say (what they are bidden) meaning the angels.
