يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِذۡ هَمَّ قَوۡمٌ أَن يَبۡسُطُوٓاْ إِلَيۡكُمۡ أَيۡدِيَهُمۡ فَكَفَّ أَيۡدِيَهُمۡ عَنكُمۡۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
O les croyants! Rappelez-vous le bienfait d'Allah à votre égard, le jour où un groupe d'ennemis s'apprêtait à porter la main sur vous (en vue de vous attaquer) et qu'Il repoussa leur tentative. Et craignez Allah. C'est en Allah que les croyants doivent mettre leur confiance
Asbab Al-Nuzul by Al-Wahidi — Asbab Al-Nuzul by Al-Wahidi
(O ye who believe! Remember Allah�s favour unto you, how a people were minded to stretch out their hands against you�) [5:11]. Sa�id ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ja�far al-Mu�adhdhin informed us> Abu �Ali al-Faqih> Abu Lubabah Muhammad ibn al-Mahdi al-Mihani> �Ammar ibn al-Hasan> Salamah ibn al-Fadl> Muhammad ibn Ishaq> �Amr ibn �Ubayd> al-Hasan al-Basri> Jabir ibn �Abd Allah al-Ansari who related that a man from Muharib by the name of Ghawrath ibn al-Harith said to his people of Banu Ghatafan and Muharib: �Shall I kill Muhammad for you?� �Yes, but how are you going to do it?� they asked him. He said: �I will assassinate him!� This man then proceeded to the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, and found him sitting with his sword in his lap. He said: �O Muhammad, let me see this sword of yours�. He handed the sword over to him. The man took the sword out of its scabbard, moved it about but whenever he was on the point of striking the Prophet with it, Allah, glorious and majestic is He, restrained him. The man then said: �O Muhammad, are you not scared of me?� �No!� answered the Prophet. The man said: �You are not scared of me even though the sword is in my hand?� The Prophet said: �Allah will protect me from you�. The man put the sword back in its scabbard and gave it back to the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, upon which Allah, exalted is He, revealed (Remember Allah�s favour unto you, how a people were minded to stretch out their hands against you�). Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Tha�labi informed us> �Abd Allah ibn Hamid> Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hasan> Muhammad ibn Yahya> �Abd al-Razzaq> Ma�mar> al-Zuhri> Abu Salamah> Jabir who reported that the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, stopped by at a certain location and so people spread about to seek shade under the trees. The Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, hang his weapon on a tree and sat down to rest. A Bedouin came along, got hold of the sword belonging to the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, turned to him and said: �Who will save you from me now?� The Prophet said: �Allah!� The Bedouin repeated the same question two or three times, and the answer of the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, was always the same: �Allah!� The Bedouin then put the sword back in its scabbard.
۞وَلَقَدۡ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ وَبَعَثۡنَا مِنۡهُمُ ٱثۡنَيۡ عَشَرَ نَقِيبٗاۖ وَقَالَ ٱللَّهُ إِنِّي مَعَكُمۡۖ لَئِنۡ أَقَمۡتُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَيۡتُمُ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَءَامَنتُم بِرُسُلِي وَعَزَّرۡتُمُوهُمۡ وَأَقۡرَضۡتُمُ ٱللَّهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنٗا لَّأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ وَلَأُدۡخِلَنَّكُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ مِنكُمۡ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ
Et Allah certes prit l'engagement des enfants d'Israël. Nous nommâmes douze chefs d'entre eux. Et Allah dit: «Je suis avec vous, pourvu que vous accomplissiez la Salât, acquittiez la Zakât, croyiez en Mes messagers, les aidiez et fassiez à Allah un bon prêt. Alors, certes, j'effacerai vos méfaits, et vous ferai entrer aux Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux. Et quiconque parmi vous, après cela, mécroit, s'égare certes du droit chemin»

فَبِمَا نَقۡضِهِم مِّيثَٰقَهُمۡ لَعَنَّـٰهُمۡ وَجَعَلۡنَا قُلُوبَهُمۡ قَٰسِيَةٗۖ يُحَرِّفُونَ ٱلۡكَلِمَ عَن مَّوَاضِعِهِۦ وَنَسُواْ حَظّٗا مِّمَّا ذُكِّرُواْ بِهِۦۚ وَلَا تَزَالُ تَطَّلِعُ عَلَىٰ خَآئِنَةٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا مِّنۡهُمۡۖ فَٱعۡفُ عَنۡهُمۡ وَٱصۡفَحۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Et puis, à cause de leur violation de l'engagement, Nous les avons maudits et endurci leurs cœurs: ils détournent les paroles de leur sens et oublient une partie de ce qui leur a été rappelé. Tu ne cesseras de découvrir leur trahison, sauf d'un petit nombre d'entre eux. Pardonne-leur donc et oublie [leurs fautes]. Car Allah aime, certes, les bienfaisants

وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا نَصَٰرَىٰٓ أَخَذۡنَا مِيثَٰقَهُمۡ فَنَسُواْ حَظّٗا مِّمَّا ذُكِّرُواْ بِهِۦ فَأَغۡرَيۡنَا بَيۡنَهُمُ ٱلۡعَدَاوَةَ وَٱلۡبَغۡضَآءَ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚ وَسَوۡفَ يُنَبِّئُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصۡنَعُونَ
Et de ceux qui disent: «Nous sommes chrétiens», Nous avons pris leur engagement. Mais ils ont oublié une partie de ce qui leur a été rappelé. Nous avons donc suscité entre eux l'inimitié et la haine jusqu'au Jour de la Résurrection. Et Allah les informera de ce qu'ils faisaient

يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ قَدۡ جَآءَكُمۡ رَسُولُنَا يُبَيِّنُ لَكُمۡ كَثِيرٗا مِّمَّا كُنتُمۡ تُخۡفُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَيَعۡفُواْ عَن كَثِيرٖۚ قَدۡ جَآءَكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ نُورٞ وَكِتَٰبٞ مُّبِينٞ
O gens du Livre! Notre Messager (Muhammad) vous est certes venu, vous exposant beaucoup de ce que vous cachiez du Livre, et passant sur bien d'autres choses! Une lumière et un Livre explicite vous sont certes venus d'Allah
