يَسۡتَفۡتُونَكَ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُفۡتِيكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡكَلَٰلَةِۚ إِنِ ٱمۡرُؤٌاْ هَلَكَ لَيۡسَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٞ وَلَهُۥٓ أُخۡتٞ فَلَهَا نِصۡفُ مَا تَرَكَۚ وَهُوَ يَرِثُهَآ إِن لَّمۡ يَكُن لَّهَا وَلَدٞۚ فَإِن كَانَتَا ٱثۡنَتَيۡنِ فَلَهُمَا ٱلثُّلُثَانِ مِمَّا تَرَكَۚ وَإِن كَانُوٓاْ إِخۡوَةٗ رِّجَالٗا وَنِسَآءٗ فَلِلذَّكَرِ مِثۡلُ حَظِّ ٱلۡأُنثَيَيۡنِۗ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ أَن تَضِلُّواْۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمُۢ
Ils te demandent ce qui a été décrété. Dis: «Au sujet du défunt qui n'a pas de père ni de mère ni d'enfant, Allah vous donne Son décret: si quelqu'un meurt sans enfant, mais a une sœur, à celle-ci revient la moitié de ce qu'il laisse. Et lui, il héritera d'elle en totalité si elle n'a pas d'enfant. Mais s'il a deux sœurs (ou plus), à elles alors les deux tiers de ce qu'il laisse; et s'il a des frères et des sœurs, à un frère alors revient une portion égale à celle de deux sœurs. Allah vous donne des explications pour que vous ne vous égariez pas. Et Allah est Omniscient
Asbab Al-Nuzul by Al-Wahidi — Asbab Al-Nuzul by Al-Wahidi
(They ask thee for a pronouncement. Say: Allah hath pronounced for you concerning distant kindred�) [4:176]. Abu �Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hamid informed us>Zahir ibn Ahmad> al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn Mus�ab> Yahya ibn Hakim> Ibn Abi �Adiyy> Hisham ibn Abi �Abd Allah> Abu�l-Zubayr> Jabir who said: �I had seven sisters and I fell ill. The Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, came to visit me. [He found me unconscious and so] he spit on my face and I woke up. I said to him: �O Messenger of Allah, can I bequest for my sister two thirds of my wealth�. He said: �Hold back!� I said: �What about half?� He said: �Hold back!� and then he went out and left me. Then he came back and said to me: �O Jabir, you are not going to die as a result of your present illness. Allah has revealed verses explaining the share your sister should have. He has apportioned two thirds for them� �. Jabir used to say: �This verse (They ask thee for a pronouncement. Say: Allah hath pronounced for you concerning distant kindred�) was revealed about me�.
