64 versets
لَّقَدۡ أَنزَلۡنَآ ءَايَٰتٖ مُّبَيِّنَٰتٖۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
Nous avons certes fait descendre des versets explicites. Et Allah guide qui Il veut vers un droit chemin

وَيَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلرَّسُولِ وَأَطَعۡنَا ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ ذَٰلِكَۚ وَمَآ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Et ils disent: «Nous croyons en Allah et au messager et nous obéissons». Puis après cela, une partie d'entre eux fait volte-face. Ce ne sont point ceux-là les croyants

وَإِذَا دُعُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ إِذَا فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُم مُّعۡرِضُونَ
Et quand on les appelle vers Allah et Son messager pour que celui-ci juge parmi eux, voilà que quelques-uns d'entre eux s'éloignent

(And when they appeal unto Allah and His messenger to judge between them�) [24:48]. The commentators of the Qur�an said: �This verse and the verse after it were revealed about Bishr, the hypocrite, and his opponent, a Jewish person, regarding their dispute over a piece of land. The Jew kept dragging Bishr to the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, in order that he judges between them while the hypocrite kept dragging the Jew to Ka�b al-Ashraf, saying: �Muhammad will be unfair with us!� � This incident has already been mentioned upon dealing with the words of Allah (� how they would go for judgment (in their dispute) to false deities�) in Surah al-Nisa� [4:60].
وَإِن يَكُن لَّهُمُ ٱلۡحَقُّ يَأۡتُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ مُذۡعِنِينَ
Mais s'ils ont le droit en leur faveur, ils viennent à lui, soumis

أَفِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ أَمِ ٱرۡتَابُوٓاْ أَمۡ يَخَافُونَ أَن يَحِيفَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَرَسُولُهُۥۚ بَلۡ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
Y a-t-il une maladie dans leurs cœurs? ou doutent-ils ? ou craignent-ils qu'Allah les opprime, ainsi que Son messager? Non!... mais ce sont eux les injustes
