Ibn 'Umar said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَكَانَ يَلْبَسُهُ فِي يَمِينِهِ، فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَطَرَحَهُ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَقَالَ: لا أَلْبَسُهُ أَبدًا فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ.
"Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) chose a signet ring of gold, and he used to wear it on his right hand. The people therefore chose signet rings of gold, so he threw it away (Allah bless him and give him peace) and said: 'I shall never wear it!' The people therefore threw their signet rings away.”
Anas said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: كَانَتْ قَبِيعَةُ سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ فِضَّةٍ.
“Ihe pommel of the sword of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) was made of silver.”
Sa'id ibn Abi’l-Hasan al-Basri said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: كَانَتْ قَبِيعَةُ سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ فِضَّةٍ.
“The pommel of the sword of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) was made of silver."
Hud (i.e. Ibn 'Abdi’llah ibn Sa'd) reports that his grandfather said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَكَّةَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ وَعَلَى سَيْفِهِ ذَهَبٌ، وَفِضَّةٌ، قَالَ طَالِبٌ: فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْفِضَّةِ، فَقَالَ: كَانَتْ قَبِيعَةُ السَّيْفِ فِضَّةً.
"Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) entered Mecca on the Day of Victory with gold and silver on his sword. An inquirer said: 'I asked him about the silver', and he said: ‘The pommel of the sword was silver'.”
Ibn Sirin said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahحَدَّثَنَا محمد بن شجاع البغدادى , حَدَّثَنَا أبو عبيدة الحداد , عن عثمان بن سعد , عن ابن سيرين قال: صنعت سيفي على سيف سمرة بن جندب: وزعم سمرة أنه صنع سَيْفِه على سيف رَسُولِ اللهِصلى الله عليه وسلم , وكان حنيفيا. حدثنا عقبة بن مكرم البصري , قال: حدثنا محمد بن بكر , عن عثمان بن سعد , بهذا الإسناد , نحوه.
"I made my sword in the shape of the sword of Samura ibn Jundub." Samura also claimed that he made his sword in the shape of the sword of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), for he was a Hanafi.
Az-Zubair ibn al-'Awwam said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: كَانَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ دِرْعَانِ، فَنَهَضَ إِلَى الصَّخْرَةِ فَلَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ، فَأَقْعَدَ طَلْحَةَ تَحْتَهُ، وَصَعِدَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَتَّى اسْتَوَى عَلَى الصَّخْرَةِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، يَقُولُ: أَوْجَبَ طَلْحَةُ.
"The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) wore two coats of mail on the Day of Uhud, so he tried to climb the boulder but was not able. He therefore made Talha sit beneath him, and the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), climbed up until he stood upright on the rock." He said: "I heard the Prophet say (Allah bless him and give him peace): 'Talha performed a deed worthy of reward'!”
As-Sa’ib ibn Yazid said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ، عَنِ السَّائِب بْنِ يَزِيدَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، كَانَ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ دِرْعَانِ، قَدْ ظَاهَرَ بَيْنَهُمَا.
"Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) wore on the Day of Uhud two coats of mail between which he rendered support.”
Anas ibn Malik said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: اقْتُلُوهُ.
"The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) entered Mecca wearing a helmet. He was told: 'This Ibn Khatal is clinging to the curtains of the Ka'ba so he said: 'Kill him!'"
Anas ibn Malik reported
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: فَلَمَّا نَزَعَهُ جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: ابْنُ خَطَلٍ مُتَعَلِّقٌ بِأَسْتَارِ الْكَعْبَةِ، فَقَالَ: اقْتُلُوهُ، قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ: وَبَلَغَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، لَمْ يَكُنْ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُحْرِمًا.
“Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) entered Mecca in the Year of Victory with the helmet on his head. When he took it off, a man came to him and told him: ‘Ibn Khatal is clinging to the curtains of the Ka'ba,’ so he said: ‘Kill him!’ Ibn Shihab said: ‘It has also reached me that Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) was not in the state of ritual consecration on that day.’”
Jabir said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، مَكَّةَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِمَامَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ.
“The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) entered Mecca on the Day of Victory wearing a black turban.”
'Amr ibn Huraith reported that his father said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِمَامَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ.
"I saw a black turban on the head of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace).”
'Amr ibn Huraith reported that his father said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahحَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، وَيُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ مُسَاوِرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَمْرُو بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، خَطَبَ النَّاسَ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِمَامَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ.
"The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) addressed the people while wearing a black turban.”
Ibn 'Umar said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، إِذَا اعْتَمَّ، سَدَلَ عِمَامَتَهُ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ..
"When the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) donned a turban, he let his turban hang down between his shoulders.”
Ibn 'Abbas said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahحَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سُلَيْمَانَ وَهُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَطَبَ النَّاسَ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِصَابَةٌ دَسْمَاءُ.
“The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) addressed the people while wearing a turban that was dasma’ .
Abu Burda reported that his father said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْرَجَتْ إِلَيْنَا عَائِشَةُ، كِسَاءً مُلَبَّدًا، وَإِزَارًا غَلِيظًا، فَقَالَتْ: قُبِضَ رُوحُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فِي هَذَيْنِ.
“'A'isha (may Allah be well pleased with her) brought out to us a tangled garment and a coarse loincloth, then she said: ‘The spirit of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) was taken in these two'.”
Al-Ash'ath ibn Sulaim said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَمَّتِي، تُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَمِّهَا، قَالَ: بَيْنَا أَنَا أَمشِي بِالْمَدِينَةِ، إِذَا إِنْسَانٌ خَلْفِي يَقُولُ: ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ، فَإِنَّهُ أَتْقَى وَأَبْقَى فَإِذَا هُوَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّمَا هِيَ بُرْدَةٌ مَلْحَاءُ، قَالَ: أَمَا لَكَ فِيَّ أُسْوَةٌ؟ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا إِزَارُهُ إِلَى نِصْفِ سَاقَيْهِ.
"I heard my maternal aunt relate, on the authority of her paternal uncle; 'While I was walking in Medina, someone behind me said: ‘Raise your loincloth, for that is more pious and conducive to longer wear.’ Lo and behold, he was Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace)', so I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, it is simply a black garment with white stripes!’ He said: ‘Do you not have an example in me?’ so I looked and noticed that his loincloth was to half his shins'.”
llyas ibn Salama al-Akwa reported that his father said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: كَانَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ، يَأْتَزِرُ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ، وَقَالَ: هَكَذَا كَانَتْ إِزْرَةُ صَاحِبِي، يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم.
"'Uthman ibn 'Affan used to wear a loincloth reaching the middle parts of his shins, and he said: 'In this manner was the loincloth of my Companion', meaning the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace).”
Hudhaifa ibn al-Yuman said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، بِعَضَلَةِ سَاقِي أَوْ سَاقِهِ، فَقَالَ: هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الإِزَارِ، فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَأَسْفَلَ، فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَلا حَقَّ لِلإِزَارِ فِي الْكَعْبَيْنِ.
"Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) took hold of the calf of my legs or his leg, and he said: 'This is the position of the loincloth, and if you object, then somewhat lower down, but if you object, the loincloth has no right to the ankles'.”
Abu Huraira said
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: وَلا رَأَيْتُ شَيْئًا أَحْسَنَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَأَنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَجْرِي فِي وَجْهِهِ، وَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَسْرَعَ فِي مِشْيَتِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَأَنَّمَا الأَرْضُ تُطْوَى لَهُ إِنَّا لَنُجْهِدُ أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنَّهُ لَغَيْرُ مُكْتَرِثٍ.
"I have not seen anything more beautiful than Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace). The sun seemed to shine in his face. Nor have I seen anyone more rapid in his gait than Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace). The earth seemed to be folded up for him. We must strenuously exert ourselves, while he is not subject to any stress."
Ibrahim ibn Muhammad, one of the offspring of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, told me
dansShama'il Muhammadiyahقَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ عَلِيٌّ إِذَا وَصَفَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ: كَانَ إِذَا مَشَى تَقَلَّعَ كَأَنَّمَا يَنْحَطُّ مِنْ صَبَبٍ.
“When "Ali described the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), he said: ‘When he walked, he moved as if he were descending a declivity'.”
