It was narrated that Anas bin Malik would place his hands over his ears and say
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ كَانَ يَضَعُ يَدَيْهِ عَلَى أُذُنَيْهِ وَيَقُولُ صُمَّتَا إِنْ لَمْ أَكُنْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ " تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ " .
"May my ears be made deaf, if I did not hear the messenger of Allah saying: 'Perform ablution after (eating) that which has been changed by fire.'"
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ أَكَلَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَتِفًا ثُمَّ مَسَحَ يَدَيْهِ بِمِسْحٍ كَانَ تَحْتَهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ فَصَلَّى .
"The Messenger of Allah ate a shoulder, then he wiped his hands on a Mish that was underneath him, then he got up for prayer, and performed the prayer.
It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ أَكَلَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّئُوا .
"The Prophet, Abu Bakr and 'Umar ate some bread and meat, and they did not perform ablution (after that)."
Zuhri said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ حَضَرْتُ عَشَاءَ الْوَلِيدِ - أَوْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ - فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ قُمْتُ لأَتَوَضَّأَ فَقَالَ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى أَبِي أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَنَّهُ أَكَلَ طَعَامًا مِمَّا غَيَّرَتِ النَّارُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ . وَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ، عَلَى أَبِي بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ .
"I had dinner with Walid or Abdul-Malik. When the time for prayer came, I got up to perform ablution. Ja'far bin 'Amr bin Umayyah said: 'I bear witness that my father bore witness, that the Messenger of Allah ate food that had been changed by fire, then he performed prayer, and he did not perform ablution.' (Sahih) And 'Ali bin 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas said: 'And I bear witness to similar from my father.'"
It was narrated that Umm Salamah said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَتْ أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ بِكَتِفِ شَاةٍ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ وَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً .
"Some meat from the shoulder of a sheep was brought to the Messenger of Allah and he ate some of it, then he performed prayer without touching water (for ablution)."
Suwaid bin Nu'man Ansari narrated that
dansSunan Ibn Majahحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ الأَنْصَارِيُّ، أَنَّهُمْ خَرَجُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِالصَّهْبَاءِ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِأَطْعِمَةٍ فَلَمْ يُؤْتَ إِلاَّ بِسَوِيقٍ فَأَكَلُوا وَشَرِبُوا ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَمَضْمَضَ فَاهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا الْمَغْرِبَ .
They went out with the Messenger of Allah to Khaibar. When they reached As-Sahba' (a place near Khaibar), he performed 'Asr (Afternoon prayer), then he called for food, but no food was brought except for Sawiq. So they ate that and drank, and then he called for water and rinsed his mouth, then he stood up and led us for Maghrib (Sunset) prayer."
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that
dansSunan Ibn Majahحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ فَمَضْمَضَ وَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ وَصَلَّى .
The Messenger of Allah ate meat from the shoulder of a sheep, then he rinsed his mouth and washed his hands, then he prayed.
It was narrated that Bara'bin 'Azib said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ مِنْ لُحُومِ الإِبِلِ فَقَالَ " تَوَضَّئُوا مِنْهَا " .
"The Messenger of Allah was asked about performing ablution after eating camel meat. He said: 'Perform ablution after eating it.'"
It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَنْ نَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ لُحُومِ الإِبِلِ وَلاَ نَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ .
"The Messenger of Allah commanded us to perform ablution after eating camel meat but not to perform ablution after eating the mutton."
It was narrated that Usaid bin Hudair said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " لاَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِنْ أَلْبَانِ الْغَنَمِ وَتَوَضَّئُوا مِنْ أَلْبَانِ الإِبِلِ " .
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Do not perform ablution after (drinking) sheep's milk, but perform ablution after (drinking) camel's milk.'"
'Abdullah bin 'Amr said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَارِبَ بْنَ دِثَارٍ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ " تَوَضَّئُوا مِنْ لُحُومِ الإِبِلِ وَلاَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ وَتَوَضَّئُوا مِنْ أَلْبَانِ الإِبِلِ وَلاَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِنْ أَلْبَانِ الْغَنَمِ وَصَلُّوا فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ وَلاَ تُصَلُّوا فِي مَعَاطِنِ الإِبِلِ " .
"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Perform ablution after (eating) camel meat, but do not perform ablution after (eating) mutton. Perform ablution after (drinking) camel's milk, but do not perform ablution after (drinking) sheep's milk. Perform prayer in the sheep pens but not do in the camels' Ma'atin.'"
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ " مَضْمِضُوا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ فَإِنَّ لَهُ دَسَمًا " .
The Prophet said: 'Rinse your mouths after drinking milk for there is some greasiness in it."
It was narrated that Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet, said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " إِذَا شَرِبْتُمُ اللَّبَنَ فَمَضْمِضُوا فَإِنَّ لَهُ دَسَمًا " .
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'If you drink milk, then rinse your mouths, for there is some greasiness in it.'"
'Abdul-Muhaimin bin 'Abbas bin Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'di narraed from his father, from his grandfather, that
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ " مَضْمِضُوا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ فَإِنَّ لَهُ دَسَمًا " .
The Messenger of Allah said: "Rinse your mouths after drinking milk, for it has some greasiness in it."
It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ حَلَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ شَاةً وَشَرِبَ مِنْ لَبَنِهَا ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَمَضْمَضَ فَاهُ وَقَالَ " إِنَّ لَهُ دَسَمًا " .
"The Messenger of Allah milked a sheep and drank some of its milk, then he called for water and rinsed his mouth and said: 'It has some greasiness in it.'"
'Urwah bin Az-Subair narrated from 'Aishah, that
dansSunan Ibn Majahحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَبَّلَ بَعْضَ نِسَائِهِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ . قُلْتُ مَا هِيَ إِلاَّ أَنْتِ . فَضَحِكَتْ .
The Messenger of Allah kissed one of his women (i.e., wives), then he went to perform the prayer, and he did not perform ablution. I ('Urwah bin Zubair) said: "That was not anyone but you,' and she smiled."
It was narrated from 'Aishah
dansSunan Ibn Majahحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ السَّهْمِيَّةِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ثُمَّ يُقَبِّلُ وَيُصَلِّي وَلاَ يَتَوَضَّأُ وَرُبَّمَا فَعَلَهُ بِي .
"The Messenger of Allah would perform ablution, then he would kiss, then he would perform prayer without performing ablution again. And sometimes he did that with me."
It was narrated that 'Ali said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنِ الْمَذْىِ فَقَالَ " فِيهِ الْوُضُوءُ وَفِي الْمَنِيِّ الْغُسْلُ " .
"The Messenger of Allah was asked about prostatic fluid and he said: 'For that ablution (is necessary), and for semen, bath is necessary.'"
It was narrated from Miqdad bin Aswad that
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ " إِذَا وَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَنْضِحْ فَرْجَهُ - يَعْنِي لِيَغْسِلْهُ - وَيَتَوَضَّأْ " .
He asked the Prophet about a man who approached his wife, but did not ejaculate. He said: "If anyone of you finds that, he should sprinkle water over his private part (meaning he must wash it) and perform ablution."
It was narrated that Sahl bin Hunaif said
dansSunan Ibn Majahقَالَ كُنْتُ أَلْقَى مِنَ الْمَذْىِ شِدَّةً فَأُكْثِرُ مِنْهُ الاِغْتِسَالَ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ " إِنَّمَا يُجْزِيكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوُضُوءُ " . قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ بِمَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبِي قَالَ " إِنَّمَا يَكْفِيكَ كَفٌّ مِنْ مَاءٍ تَنْضِحُ بِهِ مِنْ ثَوْبِكَ حَيْثُ تَرَى أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ " .
"I used to suffer from a great deal of prostatic fluid, and I took many baths because of that. I asked the messenger of Allah about that, and he said: 'Ablution is sufficient for you in this case.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! What about the prostatic fluid that gets onto my clothes?' he said: 'it is sufficient for you to pour a handful of water on the part of your clothes wherever you see it has reached.'"
